Raymond Pettibon
Raymond Pettibon is an illustrator and painter who works in a cartoon-style integrating hand-written text into his images. He often has anti-authoritarian views and messages that he incorporates into his artwork. His pen and ink drawings often include dark humor. He is a contemporary artist and has done many work with musical artists, designing album art and fliers for bands. Raymond Pettibon has become internationally known and has artwork displayed in many galleries, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Students could view Pettibon's artwork, discuss it's meaning, and then find a social issue or current event that they would like to commentate, and incorporate their ideas, values, and thoughts into their own artwork inspired by the artist.
